Electrochemistry is the study of chemical reactions that involve electron transfer. Most chemical reactions that are relevant to our society’s modern energy issues involve electron transfer, including reactions in batteries, solar panels, fuel cells for hydrogen-powered cars, and carbon fixation technologies.
Students in the Knoche Gupta group use electrochemical techniques to study catalysts for these important electrochemical reactions.
