Get involved with GSRC
Contribute to a more open community
We in the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center love collaborating with students! Luckily, there are many ways students are able to get involved with the office:
Internships
The GSRC offers approximately ten student internships at any given time. As an intern, you can expect to play an integral role in program/event creation and facilitation, student outreach, on- and off-campus networking, and social justice advocacy. Internships are competitive: passion for student advocacy and a collaborative spirit are required! For more information, contact the GSRC associate student services coordinator, Kallie Friede (friedeka@uwec.edu).
Work Study
While we do offer work study, spaces fill up quickly! If you’re interested in working for the office, please email gsrc@uwec.edu and put WORK STUDY in the subject heading.
Academic Credit
We work with students across numerous majors and minors. We offer between 1-3 credits of independent/directed study, as stipulated by your respective department. No area of study is off limits. For more information, contact the office at gsrc@uwec.edu.
Service-Learning
Students often ask us if we offer Service-Learning opportunities. We absolutely do! There are a handful of events throughout the academic year that require volunteers, and your involvement may be able to satisfy that degree requirement. To learn more, please contact the office at gsrc@uwec.edu and put SERVICE-LEARNING in the subject heading.
Volunteer
If none of the options above work for you, there may still be a way for you to get involved in the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center. Reach out to our associate student services coordinator, Kallie Friede (friedeka@uwec.edu) and we’ll see what we can figure out.
