Find the support you need at camp

We are proud to be a part of the Chippewa Valley Aphasia Camp for over a decade. The faculty and students here at UWEC work closely with Mayo Clinic Health Systems to operate the four-day camp each fall. Aphasia Camp is designed for people of all ages with aphasia, a language disorder that usually results from a stroke or brain injury. The focus of the camp is to provide a supportive and safe environment where attendees can be active and comfortable.

A great experience for students

Aphasia Camp is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain experience outside of a clinic or school setting. The students who have been involved have found this immersion experience to be a highlight of their university career as they learned to support campers with a variety of communication abilities. If you are interested in getting involved, talk to your advisor.
