UWEC prioritizes student-faculty research opportunities, including sustainability research. Microplastics have made their way into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a wilderness area in northern Minnesota, according to a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire research team. Researchers found microplastics in earthworms, water and soils.
